Biography
Moruf Adedeji Adeagbo is the founder and CEO of HaqHayTech Limited. He is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), Brazil, in the Bioinformatics research line, supervised by Prof. Sabrina de A. Silveira. His doctoral work develops graph-based methods for predicting protein–protein interactions (PPIs): predPPI-GReMLIN (accepted at PLOS ONE, in revision) and its public web server. He also works on machine learning for computational drug discovery, published in the Journal of Cheminformatics (2026) together with the Calabar platform for screening acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, and on rigorous benchmarking of PPI predictors, with the PPI Benchmark Studio web application.
His work sits where HaqHayTech sits: between research and application. Before his doctorate he earned an M.Sc. in Computer Science (Bioinformatics) at UFV, with a thesis on predicting ligands from conserved substructures in protein–protein interactions, and an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. (Computer Science with Economics) at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He has been an Assistant Lecturer at First Technical University, Ibadan, since 2019.
Alongside research, he has worked in software engineering since 2011. He built web and FinTech applications at Netvoize Solutions in Lagos, worked as a software engineer and ICT instructor in Ile-Ife, developed result-processing and cooperative-management systems for universities, a polytechnic and a teaching hospital, and consulted on automating business processes for companies in Ikeja, Lagos. His research has been supported by TETFund (M.Sc.) and CAPES (PhD) scholarships, and his job recommender model won a Bronze Award at the 2017 Innovation Technology Expo (InTEX) in Malaysia.
